I was<br \/>\nfar away from home\u2014Physically, Emotionally, and in<br \/>\nevery other way that matters to a young heart still<br \/>\nlearning what it means to belong. In that space<br \/>\nof longing and unfamiliarity, Poetry became my<br \/>\ncompanion\u2014my way of making sense of emotions too<br \/>\nbig for a child to hold alone. Every line I wrote back<br \/>\nthen carried the weight of distance, of missing, of<br \/>\ngrowing up too quietly in a world that often didn\u2019t ask<br \/>\nhow I felt, and how I was doing.
